What is eSIM?

An eSIM is an embedded Subscriber Identity Module—essentially, a built-in chip inside your phone. It has all the functions of a traditional SIM card, but without the need to insert a small card into your phone. Plus, eSIM allows you to use services from multiple carriers and multiple phone numbers simultaneously, which is very convenient.

Smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and even some cars are equipped with eSIM! This feature is perfect for quickly switching phone numbers while also getting mobile data for your travels.

  • Instant Digital Delivery

Get your data plan immediately via email or app. No shipping, no waiting.

  • Easy Global Access

Download plans for over 150+ countries. Stay connected wherever you go.

  • Secure & Flexible

Cannot be physically lost or stolen. Store multiple profiles on one device.

How does eSIM work?

eSIM works using software pre-installed on your device, functioning just like a physical SIM card. Once you activate it, you can connect to mobile networks, make calls, and use mobile data. Most modern smartphones have built-in eSIM functionality, but please check our eSIM compatible device list to ensure your phone can use this feature.

To get started with eSIM, simply purchase an eSIM plan and complete the quick setup. There's no need to remove your current SIM card—you can leave it in place whether you decide to continue using it or not.

eSIM Pros

eSIM is the future of connectivity. Here are the main advantages of eSIM.

No expensive roaming fees

Travelers can buy an eSIM, connect to a local carrier, and avoid unexpected roaming charges.

Multiple profiles

You can install multiple virtual eSIMs on one device, making it easy to switch between carriers and phone numbers.

Pay as you go

Going to Japan for a week? Buy a 7-day plan without paying for a whole month, saving money for more sushi.

Space saving

Without a physical SIM slot, space is freed up for other device upgrades (like bigger batteries or more phone features).

Can't be lost or stolen

Swapping tiny SIM cards is a hassle, especially when traveling. eSIM is "built-in", so it can't be lost or stolen.

Less waste

One plastic SIM card won't destroy the planet, but a new packaged SIM card for every trip adds up. Switch to eSIM.

What is the difference between eSIM and Physical SIM?

The main difference is that eSIM is a digital chip, while a SIM card is a physical chip.
